I just got back from a trip cross country and let me tell you, I did not look anywhere near as glamorous as Elizabeth Hurley does in this photo. If you want to look and feel great at 35,000 feet, check out how the experts do it, courtesy of InStyle Magazine.

1. What's in my Carry-On: the Dermatologist

Having a practice in N.Y.C., a husband in Toronto and clients across the world, Dr. Lisa Airan spends a lot of time in the air – and still looks radiant. Her secret weapon on long flights: Advil PM. "I'll take one and sleep great," she says. "Dark circles are hereditary, but look worse if you're tired."

2. What's in my Carry-On: the Makeup Artist

As Global Creative Color Director for the Avon brand and a mother of three (with husband, Patrick Dempsey), Jillian Dempsey has her hands full whether she's traveling for business or pleasure. Her goal? "To keep things as simple as possible," she says. "If I can step off the plane looking well-rested, than mission accomplished."

3. What's in my Carry-On: the Wellness Expert

When he's not training stars like Anne Hathaway at his New York health center, wellness guru David Kirsch is busy teaching his two toddlers smart eating habits – a lesson he takes on the road. "We always bring lunch boxes filled with snacks like string cheese and almonds to the airport," he says. "You want something that's satisfying and nutritious."

4. What's in my Carry-On: the Hairstylist

With salons in N.Y.C. and L.A., hair pro Sally Hershberger flies cross country about once a week. But thanks to a low-maintenance strategy, she stays well coiffed from takeoff to landing. "A good haircut is key," says Hershberger, who also suggests shampooing the day before your flight to make tresses more manageable.

5. Travel Tip

Take advantage of Sephora's policy of providing three free samples with any online order – you can save the airport-friendly containers for later use.

InStyle's July issue is on newsstands today.
