I’m not one of those people who would follow a food or fashion truck around on Twitter, I just don’t have the time! But I was pleasantly surprised when I went to a local farmers market and, lo and behold, there was a fashion truck in between the organic fruit juices and fresh cheese!

Runaway Runway is the clever name — how fun! There’s a rack of clothing outside to lure customers and inside is nice and cool and air conditioned — a bonus in the heat!

“Breakfast at Tiffany’s” is showing inside the truck. Music adds to the fun vibe and there are displays of jewelry and accessories and racks and racks of clothing. There’s even a dressing room!

More than 20 designers are represented and there are lots of affordable options from colored jeans to Havaianas flip flops. Designer Gayle Shea, who used to design for Le Bon Marche in Paris, launched the truck, (with her husband) in January of this year. Most of the well-edited fashions are perfectly geared toward our So Cal summer… breezy skirts, dresses and tops.

Once a laundry truck, it’s now been transformed into a fun “boutique on wheels.” Great idea… especially for girls-on-the-go who need their fashion fix!
