Hilary Duff makes an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in an episode airing Friday (May 11).

The 24-year-old singer and actress gushed about her 1-month-old son, Luca, and opened up about his “very easy” delivery.

“I went into labor at about 1 in the morning and I very calmly had my bags packed and woke my husband up after about 3 hours of walking up and down my hallway. Then I' m like ok, it's time to go, let's go now,” Hilary recalled.

“I'm like my call my mom. Call my sister [Haylie]. You know get them all in here,” she added. “Things start rolling. All of the sudden the doors bust open and my sister and my mom come flying in and they're like, ‘We got barbeque chips and root beer guys.’ I'm like what? I'm pushing … like they were just arriving for a show with their chips and their root beer!”

The President was on his way to George Clooney‘s highly anticipated fundraiser event, which is said to have raised as much as $15 million for his reelection campaign.

Here are some highlights from the party released by the White House:

• Attendees included George, his girlfriend Stacy Keibler, Robert Downey Jr., Diane Von Furstenberg, Barbra Streisand, James Brolin, Tobey Maguire, Billy Crystal, Jack Black, Salma Hayek, and party host Jeffrey Katzenberg.
• Guests had to pass through two security checkpoints before being driven up Clooney‘s driveway by golf cart. Dinner was served at round tables inside a clear tent on his basketball court.
• President Obama gave a 19 minute speech. “I want to thank Clooney for letting us use his basketball court. This man has been talking smack about his basketball game, ever since I've known him." He said he and the actor had known each other for quite a while, and that famous Hope picture of him was actually culled from a picture of him and Clooney when the latter was advocating for Darfur. "We struck up a friendship. This is the first time that George Clooney has actually been photoshopped out of a picture," Obama said to laughs. "Never happened before, will never happen again."
• Obama joked about going grey. "People have comment on the fact I've got gray hair now. There was a blog post about look how wrinkly Obama is getting. [Laughter]. Sort of distressing. George doesn't have to go through these things."

On making your own rules: "After my third semester of school, I came to Los Angeles just in time for pilot season and had 15 to 20 extra pounds on me. I was told, 'Just lose some weight and you'll be golden.' But I knew I had talent. I went on [American] Idol because it was about finding the voice, not about looks. I didn't know how else to get to that level."

On overnight success being a myth: "After Idol, I met with Steven Spielberg, who had me in mind for Smash. It really does take time for projects to develop. I spent five or six years just plugging away, auditioning for so many things. Doing things like Shark Night 3D because I so badly wanted to work! The hardest part of the job is getting the job. That's the job."

On her job: "Being on set seems so glamorous. Sometimes it is, but at the end of the day, it's a job. The way I keep my head wrapped around it all is to love the people I work with and know that I'm there to sing a song and say some lines. I'm just doing my job, and the rest of it is glitz."
