Film Forum's "Essential Pre-Code" series sashays and rat-a-tats away until August 11, featuring heady double (and, on Tuesday, triple) doses of material from the five years between the coming of sound and the invasion of party-pooping moralists. Watch for two half-forgotten leading men who embody the era at its raciest: Warren William as fast-talking tycoons in Three on a Match (pictured) and The Match King (August 4), and Skyscraper Souls and Upperworld (August 11), and Lee Tracy as fast-talking newspapermen in Blessed Event and The Strange Love of Molly Louvain (August 3). Plus, of course, the gay-nineties comedy that allegedly made the censors cry "Enough!": Mae West's She Done Him Wrong.
